Swarovski pearl beads are manufactured in Austria. Unlike synthetic glass pearls, Swarovski pearl beads have a leaded crystal core that makes them heavier and more like natural pearls. The coating on Swarovski pearl beads is similar to a natural pearl in luster and color. It is also resistant to perspiration, UV rays, perfumes, scratches and washing, and warms to the skin similar to natural pearls.
